This presentation will focus on increasing student engagement through the love of reading! Students are provided the opportunity of "student-choice" when selecting a novel, as well as, a technology project to showcase their comprehension of the book. Using the Collierville Schools' Protected Reading List, I will provide specific, grade-level novels for students to read each quarter. In return, students will present a technology project featuring that book's main events. These are engaging projects that allow students to be creative as well as highlight their "tech-savy" skills. The teacher-selected novels correlate with our Social Studies curriculum and can serve as a complimentary tool with the CKLA curriculum.
