We will explore how to use Keynote and line drawing to engage students in the writing process. Specifically, we will review a Keynote project I completed with my 3rd-grade students last year during CKLA Unit 4. I will demonstrate how teachers can incorporate this activity to engage learners in the writing process.

This presentation will focus on increasing student engagement through the love of reading! Students are provided the opportunity of "student-choice" when selecting a novel, as well as, a technology project to showcase their comprehension of the book. Using the Collierville Schools' Protected Reading List, I will provide specific, grade-level novels for students to read each quarter. In return, students will present a technology project featuring that book's main events. These are engaging projects that allow students to be creative as well as highlight their "tech-savy" skills. The teacher-selected novels correlate with our Social Studies curriculum and can serve as a complimentary tool with the CKLA curriculum.
